Start Up!
I think it's easy to get carried away with starting up and wind up getting lost in your process. We can definitely bond with that as a small business. There are a lot of things to constantly keep considering. There are unexpected details and interruptions that redirect your focus. There are things you have to do, things you want to do, and things you want to avoid doing and all of them are screaming for a decision.
So how do you manage all that? For us, we talk about what is important to us as a business. We talk about what our clients are asking for, what they are not yet understanding, and how to reach out to new business in a way that really represents who we are. But talk isn't everything - we all know that too much talking wastes valuable time if it isn't specifically put into an action plan that makes a direct impact. We know you're thinking about these things all the time, too, or you wouldn't be in business.
My wife used to ask me, "Why are you doing that? Is that to make you feel good or has someone asked you for that?" She is so great at asking the uncomfortable questions. Oftentimes my answers were more centered on what I thought would be interesting instead of what my clients actually wanted. Back then it was a janitorial business and I thought things like folding the toilet paper was important. As it turned out, no one really cared if the toilet paper was folded into a neat little point and I was wasting time every time I folded.
Now, instead of toilet paper, it's web sites, e-forms, advertising, voicemail, email, and social websites. Why are we doing these things? Because you need a place to go that is easy to find, quick to get through and simple to connect with. That's what we hope to accomplish here on this website. No more folded toilet paper here, just important information and connection opportunities we think you'll appreciate having at your fingertips for more reasons than we should list here.
When you visit us, in our office, on our site. or over the phone, take a moment to take in your experience and let us know if it feels right for you. If if isn't, we really want to know. If you can't find what you're looking for we'll make it easier to find. If you can't get through to us, we'll figure out more ways to connect. If you don't like the decore...well, that's not my call but I'm sure Renee would love to hear about that, too!
Until then, have a great week and we look forward to working with you at every level of our business and yours for a profitable year for all.
