The easiest and therefore most popular objection to setting an appointment to see what services we offer is, "I already have a software program so I don't need a service."  I won't argue with that - software is expensive and ditching on the investment isn't very tempting.  As I write this, there is an ad for Quickbooks Online software displaying in the ad space on this website!  I am not challenged in the least.

First, unless you understand a balance sheet that software can't tell you if the information it has been provided is complete.  For example, I was recently looking at a balance sheet showing a negative $50,000 cash on hand.  When was the last time you had negative $5.00 in your wallet, let alone negative 50K?  Only a software program will allow this and unless you have the expertise to discern what the numbers actually mean you could inadvertently mis-report your earnings, losses, or expenses at tax time based solely on the information you put into your software program.  Things only get more complicated as you work your way down the balance sheet!

This doesn't mean you shouldn't track things in a program, though. Many of our clients continue to use Quickbooks and similar programs to manage check register information and invoicing.  What  we provide are the right set of eyes on those same numbers to ensure all those dollars end up in the right pots so monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting is simple and accurate.
